Russell Westbrook Still Has It!?

Image
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_50Ka9jCgE All Russell Westbrook did at Memphis was put up 13/18 from the field, 5/5 from three, 10 assists and 36 points! WTF? Where was that when LeBron needed it?

MLB Baseball Opening Day

I'm looking forward to opening day for Major League Baseball (MLB). Plan to watch several games today as I ordered the "watch em all, $149 package", or whatever they are calling it these days.  Will probably watch the Yankees, Mets, Astros, and Dodgers. Will fall asleep on the Dodgers.

LeBron's legacy is at stake in these playoffs

Playoff LeBron is not someone to take for granted, particularly when he has his "little friend" and sidekick, Anthony Davis along side him. The deadline moves that included bringing in D'Angelo Russell, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Malik Beasley, while jettising Russell Westbrook, greatly improved Bron's supporting cast, and he only needs so much help! I've seen King James win with considerably less in the early Cavalier days.  The question is, does LeBron still have it like that? These playoffs will tell us. Irrespective of how far the Lakers advance, I expect LeBron to, at most, play one more season. Then it's off to Vegas, a really cool place, where he'll be a really cool owner, of a really cool, NBA expansion franchise.  It's good to be LeBron James, it's good to be King and it's good to be cool! In all seriousness, I can't help but cheer for this guy that's been a class act since he was teen, with more than a little expected of him. I&#

Pistons hoping to draft Brandon Miller, F, Alabama

The Pistons could always trade a center if they drafted Victor Wembanyama (they already have a couple good ones (Duren, Wiseman),   but they'd also have to have the number one pick in their pocket in order to do so.  The Pistons need a couple of exceptional forwards and Brandon Miller (6'9) from Alabama would fit the bill very nicely. While having the number one pick and having to trade someone is a good situation to be in, odds do not favor it.

NBA Tidbits and Tabloids

* The Bucks have not experienced playoff defeat with   Middleton and Giannis both healthy since 2020! * James Harden teams used to, "not win" championships. Now, they do not reach the finals.  * Does Kidd fall on the knife for Cuban? * Golden State is not coming out of the west! They'd have to do it on the road and versus bigger clubs. It's not their year.  * First rule, never count Lebron and AD out! Second rule is do not to forget the first rule.  * How did Sac-Town get so good? Fox and Sabonis? * Did the T'wolves really try twin-towers?

Pistons Primed For Quick Turn Around/Playoff Bound

This Pistons' season has been a thing of beauty. From Cade going down, to Killian not quite getting to the next level, to the James Wiseman experience (are you experienced?), it's been a season of losing like a machine! No matter how much San Antonio and Houston wanted to out-tank the tanking-juggernaut Pistons, it does not appear likely to happen with but a few games remaining in the regular season. Pop the champagne and give Troy Weaver an extension....masterfully done! Bravo! Now down to business if I may. Troy Weaver has a master plan in which by opening game 23/24, he will court five exceptional starters, and here's how.  Position  Center: Wiseman/Duren. PF: Player they will draft or free agent coup signing. SF: Same as PF Guard: J Ivey Guard  C Cunningham The Pistons have the money to spend on a top flight free agent and this has been the plan since last off-season. This year's free agent pool is deeper and the Pistons have been saving cap space. As far as the d

Killing The Mavs Slowly With Luka!

Luka Doncic is suspended for one game unless the association rescinds. Dallas must win the rest of their games  and  hope for help in order to entertain post season hopes. Then, they'd have to win the play-in game and play the top seed in the west. Luka's suspension, incessant wining, and vulgarity, could really cost the Mavs here. Cuban has to be incensed. He gave up a ton to get Kyrie, and to not even make the post season? I think Luka reminds Cuban of Dirk, but I liked Dirk's game a lot more. I'll go out on a limb and say Luka is the wrong guy to build around. I know I'm on an island with a statement like that, but hopefully it will get me clicks!  I liked the deadline acquisition of KD a bit more than the aforementioned Kyrie debacle. If KD and the other starters stay healthy, the Suns have as good a chance as anyone in the west. Question is, do one of the teams, that have already won rings, emerge out west, such as The Lakers, Clippers (including them because
